Columbus Lands on Guanahani in 1492

Painted in February 1978, this rare piece of early Oliver Frey illustration was produced for a spread (pages 10–11) in the IPC magazine Look & Learn's issue of 1 April 1978. It was also used as a frontispiece in the Thalamus Publishing title Historical Atlas of Explorations (also Checkmark Books, USA).
Blackbeard's Last Stand

Painted in 1999, this depicts the pirate Edward Teach (Blackbeard) confronted by Lieutenant Maynard aboard Blackbeard's ship Queen Anne's Revenge. It was painted as the cover image of the Thalamus Publishing/Lyons Press (USA) book The History of Pirates.
